A wonderful and collectable dress from the iconic label Horrockses. the Horrockses label evolved in 1946 from historic cotton mill Horrockses, founded in 1791. Thus Horrockses were well known for their good quality cotton clothing, although with exciting developments in fabric technology and new fibres, synthetics such as the 100% tricel in this dress were also used. The Horrockses label was synonymous with exciting prints and this dress features a complex geometric pattern made up of squares and rectangles in shades of navy, beige and cream.
This dress is simply but beautifuly cut with flared skirt. The bodice is darted and the opening features fabric covered buttons, with zip to the waist for a perfect fit. The skirt has a flared cut and a great feature of this dress is the fabulous notch lapels which were fashionable in late 1960s fashion. The sleeves taper gently and the cuffs have matching fabric covered buttons. The dress has an original black suede belt to cinch this shirt dress in at the waist.
The dress is unlined and so lovely and light, and attention to detail is in evidence with the faced neckline and high quality finish.
In near mint condition.
