1960s Couture Castillo Suit

A rare complete set by designer Antonio del Castillo.

This is a gorgeous double breasted mauve suit, with the original leather belt which is in immaculate condition. The suit is semi-fitted and fully lined in a beautiful mauve silk. The skirt is slightly A-line and a typically 1960s length. The buttons on the jacket have a lovely texture with the appearance of leather, good quality and unusual. The jacket features decorative pocket flaps, but has no pockets.

Antonio del Castillo was a particularly notable designer from the forties to the sixties, designing for Elizabeth Arden and was head couturier at the house of Lanvin for all of the 1950s. As well as his collections he also designed for the movies.

It is very rare to find a castillo piece in such fabulous condition - a truly collectable suit.
