This beautiful dress stands out in so many ways. A rare find, in mint condition. Printed in bold colours the looser floral representation seen was closely associated with movements in fine art of the era.  The dress features an unusual back, superbly cut, with detailing such as the fabric covered buttons to the back. One of the loveliest printed garments we have ever had in our collection.

1920s Decadent Beaded Flapper Dress & Coat

This timeless flapper dress, was a classic example of the spirit of the time. Diaphanous fabrics represented a new freedom of clothing, where the body was unrestricted. Simple shapes such as this one were ornamented with art deco inspired geometric designs that were the height of modernity. The coat was a stunning silk velvet with expertly cut sleeves that draped beautifully. These were very special finds.

1950s Harald Hand Embellished Couture

Although little is known of Harald today Curzon Street was the centre of couture in London in the 1950s and 1960s. Whilst the now renowned house of Balmain set up his first couture house there there were also less recognisable names such as Harald and Maillol selling true haute couture from smaller apartment type premises in the street. Maillol couture corsets sell today for many thousands of pounds. This gown was a rare find, and we have never seen another on the market.
